Locks Cruise to “See it All”

by Sally on January 20, 2010

People ask me all the time what I would recommend as the best Argosy cruise to “see it all” – to see Seattle at its finest all within a few hours.  While touring Seattle in only a few hours may be an impossible task, jump on board the Locks Cruise and you will leave feeling one step closer to accomplishing this goal.

In only 2 1/2 hours you will cruise through the salt water of Puget Sound and through the fresh water of Lake Union via the Hiram Chittenden Locks.  With a live narrator on board you will learn everything you need to know about Seattle’s historic waterfront, one of the world’s largest shipping terminals in Elliott Bay, history and operation of the Ballard Locks, the majestic Cascade and Olympic mountain ranges and the “Sleepless in Seattle” houseboat community in Lake Union.

This is my answer to the ever-popular question asked by Seattle residents and tourists alike.  The Locks Cruise is the best sightseeing tour to choose if you want to see the best of Seattle in only a few short hours.

Now, what if you have only one hour to spare?  Maybe you are hungry and looking for brunch, lunch or dinner?  Or are you interested in a northwest native experience at Tillicum Village?  Now, that’s a different story.  Stay tuned!
