Argosy loves being a part of Camp Goodtimes and the American Cancer Society. Proven by the photo to the right, hundreds of kids also love being a part of this amazing organization. According to Camp Goodtimes West, “The mission of Camp Goodtimes is to provide cost-free, medically supervised program for children with cancer, on or off treatment, and a sibling ages 7-17. The philosophy of our program is summed up in the name “Goodtimes”… for our campers to have fun.”
Every year, Argosy generously donates a boat to the campers for the sole purpose of having fun. Deemed the National Cancer Sucks Day, an Argosy boat full of cancer kids and their siblings cruised into the dock at Pier 55 on Tuesday, June 29. Captain Mooselips and the Mariner Moose jumped on board to join in on the singing, dancing and French fry throwing (thank you Red Robin!) on this beautiful sunny afternoon.
There was not a kid without a smile on his or her face that day. Moments like this are what we love here at Argosy. Thank you Camp Goodtimes and the American Cancer Society for all that you do.
Rumor has it that July 28th is also National Cancer Sucks Day so if you’re down on the waterfront, don’t be surprised if you see or hear a boat full of kids singing and dancing to the YMCA! And by the way, make sure you watch your back for flying French fries…

Three weeks of Argosy’s June Happy Hour and one more week to go in the month of June. Since the debut of this fun Tuesday night social hour, we have enjoyed our famous cloudy Seattle weather, but yesterday the outside deck was bustling and the sun was out! While it was appropriate on the second official day of summer, people brought out their sunglasses, shorts and enjoyed delicious happy hour appetizers and refreshing drinks on the top deck of the Royal Argosy.
Here are a few picturesque shots from yesterday.

Do you want to join us next Tuesday for Happy Hour? Stop by Pier 55 between 3-7pm and join in the fun! The boat stays dockside so don’t worry, you won’t be stranded at sea!

Life on the Seattle waterfront quickly changed last week when hundreds of bags of crushed snow-like ice were brought in and a huge snow ramp emerged on Pier 56. Crews arrived early in the morning to set up a life size snowboarding ramp in honor of the annual Coors Light Cold Front celebration.

The Deadliest Catch crabbing boat, Wizard, made a special appearance as well as the Silver Bullet Girls and other VIP guests. Within minutes after the gates opened at 4pm, Pier 56 came to life. And to think that we would have snow on a sunny Seattle afternoon with highs near 75 degrees – unbelievable! Never a dull moment here at Argosy.

The schooner Adventuress will visit Pier 55 for the second time on Tuesday (today), May 11 from 2:30-5:30pm. People are welcome to stop on by for free tours of this historic vessel. The Adventuress is a 133 foot Gaff topsail two-masted Schooner that currently named a National Historical Landmark. Since its inception in 1988, Sound Experience, a nonprofit organization educating youth and adults throughout Puget Sound, has used the Adventuress as a tool in environmental eduation and leadership programs while exploring the ecology and history of Puget Sound. Today, more than 3,000 young people a year sail aboard, experiencing first-hand Puget Sound’s majesty and vulnerability, and how their daily actions will make a difference in the health of the region’s waterways for generations to come (source: soundexp.org)
The schooner Adventuress is currently in the running to win $100,000 courtesy of American Express in the Partners in Preservation grant program. If awarded the grant, important steps will be taken to help preserve this national historic vessel.
Help the schooner Adventuress win $100,000 and VOTE FOR THE BOAT in the Partners for Preservation grant program. With your help, Sound Experience will continue to educate children and adults throughout the Puget Sound and the Adventuress will continue to sail for years to come.
VOTE FOR THE BOAT by clicking this link: http://www.votefortheboat.com/
You can vote once per day. Contest ends Wednesday, May 12th so VOTE NOW! The Adventuress is currently tied for first place so we need your vote both today and tomorrow.
Tell Sound Experience you voted and you will be entered in a drawing to win a free sail aboard the Adventuress for you and your friends!
